Customer Reviews: GMC 914693 30cc Petrol Brush Cutter
I bought this strimmer to keep a certain area of my property free from vegetation. This strimmer was very capable of cutting through everything I came across. I found it very easy to put together, although there are no pictures or diagrams in the instructions.
Everything needed to put it together is included, however, after a couple of hours use using the blade, i found the split pin that stops the retaining nut coming off, had bent and is now unusable. You do get a spare, but regular use of the blade will probably require more split pins.
Changing from the blade to the spindle is quick and easy, although some parts are not required with the spindle so need to be kept safe so they dont get lost.
The harness is not great, it is more of a strap that hooks around the neck, and I found my back was aching after an hour or so. A proper harness would be a wise investment.
I dont find it too loud, although ear plugs are good idea. It was very easy to start each time and was quite economical on fuel. You will need oil and a mixing bottle.
Overall, I give this 4 stars, only let down by the strap which is not great. Other than that, I would recommend this strimmer as being good value, well made and very capable.
The strimmer itself is an amazing find, easy to take apart and transport and said what stated when first looked to purchasing it. Only two minor critisisms about the strimmer, first one is that the instructions not very well presented, had to go anline and watch manufacturers video, and second, is the strap not very purposeful. Have to buy a strimmer harness. Product itself though is really worth the money if you use it for medium amount of time like myself.
